With a training in art history from the Institute of Fine Arts, NYU and a dissertation that covered the most glorious time (1920-1950) of luxurious apartment buildings in New York City, Thomaï furthered her studies with a degree in corporate finance at NYU’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. This allowed her to better understand the market forces that shape the production and consumption of luxury goods as well as the implications of the latter in the shifting of social power.
Thomaï has been teaching on the subject of luxury to:
- graduate business (MBA) students
- undergraduate business and liberal arts students
- arts enthusiasts and
- corporate staff
while she has also been developing her own scholarship and writings. She is currently working on two business cases on luxury retail and has had the opportunity to work on a new product launch within the luxury segment of the market. It is her unique training and approach that allow her to continue building her portfolio in luxury brand strategy and to be an international expert on the subject of luxury.
